NO ORDINARY ORNAMENT

It’s the night before Christmas and I have a story to tell!!! After you read, will you take on this tradition as well?

When a gift becomes a memory, it goes way beyond just being a gift. It brings life, love and happiness for years to come. Have a little one, and need some last minute gift help? Buy an ornament and pop it into their stocking! Be prepared for, yes, a little mocking. Your reward is waiting… I promise 25 years later you will see tears dropping!

SANTA’S STRETCH

Passing on the cookie plate this week? HECK NO! As much as I try to run past those holiday goodies, I crumble every time. Especially when someone makes them gluten free, then I totally cave! Looking cute in the am, but by 2:00pm… um, where’s the stretchy pants? Can you believe these pants actually have an elastic waist? Santa has brought us the ultimate gift from Anthropologie this year!

MAMINA

MAMINA

My scarf obsession continues, but it’s official I have a new favorite! There is something truly special about having something one-of-a-kind and made to order. When I first found Mamina, I was immediately impressed with the quality and warmth of her knitwear. What impressed me more, was I had been searching for someone to make me my very own scarf. I saw Eleni from Convey the Moment in something similar and I really wanted to get one made. I searched and searched until Mamina solved all my problems.

PLEATHER TOGETHER

The older I get, the more challenging the wardrobe gets! Anyone else wanna look cute, but still maintain an age appropriate look? Add in the holidays, and I find myself at a complete loss. I mean those super sparkly little dresses call my name, but I had to walk on by! My solution to still feel sexy but maintain an age appropriate look, pleather! If it’s real or fake anyone can rock it out, right?! As I help myself, I hope to help you! The holidays are sure to feel polished and pretty in pleather! (Okay I still have a few mini’s, but I’m trying!) All opinions expressed are my own. – XO! Lisa

HAT HAPPINESS

Wearing Multiple Hats, Literally.

Yes, the change of season is falling upon us again! As fall slowly fades away… winter is ready to come out and play. Truth be told… for this look, originally I wanted my hat to match my flowers. (Crazy ocd ways I know!) More importantly though, as I changed hats I came to realize something. How many hats do we typically wear in one day?

BLANKET STATEMENT

BLANKET STATEMENT

Blanket statements:
We are all unique.
We are all special.
We are all extraordinary.
We all have bad days.
We all have passions.
We all have goals.
We all have fears.
WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT.

This list could go on… and on! When we start to compare, we tend to easily forget about the qualities we do have. Then it’s a sea of sadness that sets in. (Anyone been here, depression/comparison mode: she got this many “likes”, they went on that amazing vacation, he gets her flowers once a week.) Look, there will always be someone who is different from you. Yes different, instead of thinking that those things are “better” why can’t they just be different? That’s what makes us all special, cause we are all different! It’s a simple quote but one I think we need reminded on, “Comparison is the thief of joy!” Hug yourself, love yourself and just be yourself. The blanket scarf is a fun wardrobe piece! How will you wear yours? Maybe you buy it in a different color, or wear it in a different way! Just be you! I gave some simple ideas below! As always thanks for reading! Wild Child

Wild Child

Are you feeling a little wild these days? If it’s in fashion or life we can all feel like a “wild child” sometimes. Any of these hit home? Wild weather, wild schedules, wild relationships or simply a wild day! So, as we face our individual daily journeys… why not get a little wild with fashion?! This skirt is wild in itself, so typically you would pair it with something basic to tone it down. I decided to get wild and pair it with a puffer vest! None the less, one that has fur! A little wild and crazy right? For me not so much. Let me explain why! Wild schedules are something we all face daily. Especially if you are going from work to play. I heard my sister-in-law say… “I have a million high-heel shoes just sitting in my car cause I want to wear heels, but walk in flats!” The same idea applies here! This look allows you the versatility to make a quick change no matter what “wild adventures” you encounter!

Cozy Cables

The oh so famous “sweater weather” hashtag we love is circling back into town! It’s getting colder, and we are getting cozy! Cable knit “comfortable cozy”, the leading lady of all sweaters if you ask me! She is strong and powerful. She comes in many colors. She is extremely versatile! She can be layered and loved by oh so many! She has a presence that holds that “leading lady” title in a world full of sweaters. We each have lessons to learn in life, and I think at some point we also have to be leaders. Standing strong on our own in a world full of others. If you need a cozy, comfortable read (in your cable knit sweater), I highly suggest “Taking the Lead: Lessons from a Life in Motion” by Derek Hough. Each of us have a calling, get “cable knit cozy comfortable” with what yours is today!
